What Your Skin Says About Your Diet

I wanted to share this article I read on on NDTV about cues your skin is giving you about changes you may need to make in your diet.

Acne - may indicate you're eating too many iodine-rich foods.

Early Signs of Aging - could mean you're eating too fast, and therefore not absorbing important proteins, vitamins and minerals.

Dry Skin - may be a signal you need to hydrate more by drinking more water and eating hydrating foods like cucumber, watermelon and lettuce.

Puffy Face - could mean you need to up the essential fatty acids in your diet by eating things like salmon and olives.

Stretch Marks - you could be more prone to these if the zinc content of your diet is on the low side. Foods high in zinc include oysters, beef, chicken, tofu, pork, hemp seeds, nuts, lentils, yogurt, oatmeal, and mushrooms.
